What we collect
- When you sign up for the free book: your first name, your last name (only if you choose to give it), and your email address. We also keep a record of when and how you agreed to receive email, whether you open or click our emails, and when your personal download link was used (date, IP address and browser type), so we know who has received the free book and can make sure each link is used only once.
- Your birth year is not collected. The sign-up form asks for it only to check, on the page itself, that the person signing up isn't a child. It is never sent to us or stored.
- Browsing this website: the site itself uses no cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. The fonts are hosted on our own site. Like every website, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, for security and reliability.
How we use it
- To send you the free eBook of Book 1.
- To email you news about the ChronoStone books: new releases, release dates, and special offers such as discounts on book sets. We only do this because you gave us permission. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
We never sell, rent or trade your information, and we don't share it with advertisers.
Services that help us
- MailerLite stores our email list and sends our emails on our behalf.
- Cloudflare hosts this website. It also runs the small database that stores free-book requests and your personal download link, and logs when that link is used, including the date, IP address and browser type, so each link can only be used once.
These companies process information only to provide their service to us, under their own privacy and security commitments.
Children's privacy
Our books are for young readers, but our sign-up is for grown-ups. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The sign-up form screens for age, and anyone who may be under 13 is asked to have a parent, guardian or teacher sign up instead, and nothing is sent. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe at any time with the link at the bottom of any email.
- See, correct or delete your information by contacting us. We'll respond within 30 days.
- We keep your information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. After that, we keep only what's needed to make sure we don't email you again.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update it here with a new effective date. If the change is significant, we'll tell subscribers by email.
